STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

 

Ensure that all students demonstrate mastery of grade level standards.

  •  Ensure the consistent implementation of standards throughout the District.
  • Implement intervention programs aimed at student achievement and ensure student participation.
  • Utilize student assessment data as the basis for differentiating instruction.
  • Ensure that the District and all sites meet their Annual Yearly Progress targets by developing site plans that are based on a review of student progress and data analysis.
  • Provide support and direction to identified Program Improvement schools, as well as to all District schools, in improving the performance of underperforming groups of students.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Provide in-service opportunities for all employees as appropriate and monitor practices to ensure competent and qualified staff.  

  • Update and implement the District Professional Development Plan for certificated staff focusing on meeting the achievement needs of our diverse student population including our students who are English language learners, both LEP and RFEP.
  • Include a site level professional development plan as part of each school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) that focuses on assisting staff to improve the performance of English language learners and other underperforming groups.
  • Continue to implement a classified staff development plan in conjunction with classified managers.
  • Monitor and support targeted professional development at District Program Improvement schools.

 

COMMUNICATION:

Provide a consistent flow of information to all District stakeholders.  

  • Update District and site websites on a regular basis.
  • Refine and expand the District intranet.
  • Use a variety of communication tools to link students, staff and parents.
  • Continue to ensure that all sites have a functional PTA.
  • Review the District’s Strategic Plan strategies and action plans and make recommendations for revisions.
  • Maintain and develop school – community relationships in order to maximize resources and support an exemplary education for all students in our community.

 

TECHNOLOGY:

Utilize technology as appropriate to support the District’s goals. 

  • Ensure that the necessary technology tools, training, and resources are available to support instruction. 
  • Continue to evaluate, update and implement the District’s Technology Master Plan.
  • Revise, adopt and disseminate the Technology Proficiency Standards for Students in grades K through 12.
  • Continue to restructure technology services to increase services and efficiencies. 

 

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: 

Maximize District resources to ensure financial stability and quality instruction.  

  • Continue to recruit, develop and retain highly qualified staff.
  • Continue to refine and implement the Facilities Master Plan and identify possible funding sources.
  • Continue to explore options for the sale, lease or rental of excess school district property.
  • Continue to maintain and encourage community partnerships with the District and schools.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve student attendance.
