Labor Relations Update

This page is designed to provide our staff and community with information, resources, and progress reports relevant to current contract negotiations that are taking place between the South San Francisco Unified School District and and the South San Francisco Classroom Teachers Association (CTA).  Please check back often for updates as this process moves forward.

 

 

SSFUSD and SSFCTA Bargaining Update - April 19, 2018

The District and the South San Francisco Classroom Teachers Association (“Association”) met on April 19, 2018.   The District presented its proposal on Evaluations and worked collaboratively with the Association to identify interests around self-evaluation and three year evaluation cycle track for bargaining unit members.

 

The District’s Assistant Superintendent of Business, Michael Krause, also gave a brief budget presentation and took questions from the Association.  The District also informed the Association that it was awaiting the Governor’s May Revise before it presented its proposal on salary, benefits and hours of employment. 

 

The District and Association have already reached agreements on two articles, (a) Association Rights, and (b) Leaves, to ensure that new members have access to the Association at the time of hire and employees receive partially paid parental leave respectively.

The Parties will meet again on May 14, 2018.

SSFUSD and SSFCTA Bargaining Update - May 14, 2018

The District and the South San Francisco Classroom Teachers Association (“Association”) met on May 14, 2018.   The District worked collaboratively with the Association reviewed the Evaluation article and teacher evaluation handbook to identify interests.  The District also reviewed the Associations financial proposal and costed out some items. 

 

The Parties agreed to set a new date to meet, May 24, 2019.

The District proposed cancelling this meeting due to financial items still needing to be discussed.

SSFUSD and SSFCTA Bargaining Update - May 29, 2018

The District and the South San Francisco Classroom Teachers Association (“Association”) met on May 29, 2018.   The District presented it's offer on salary and benefits.  The Association reviewed the District's offer and countered with changes in their initial proposal.  The District will review the financial impact and provide information at our next bargaining session.  

 

The District and Association reached a tentative agreement on one articles, Evaluations, to ensure that the District and Association may move forward with printing the Evaluation Handbook for all staff prior to the start of the upcoming school year.

 

The Parties will meet again on September 18, 2018.
