On June 6 and June 9, 2025, the South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) held two ceremonial groundbreakings to celebrate the start of major construction projects at El Camino High School and Westborough Middle School.
At El Camino High School, the District broke ground on the Central Kitchen & Cafeteria Project, which will feature a modernized dining facility and serve as the new hub for SSFUSD’s Nutrition Services. This long-anticipated project will streamline food preparation and distribution while offering students an enhanced cafeteria experience.
A few days later, the community gathered again—this time at Westborough Middle School—to celebrate the start of the Field & Pavement Improvement Project, which will upgrade blacktop areas, improve field layouts, and enhance drainage to support student safety and expand recreational use.
Both projects are part of SSFUSD’s ongoing commitment to improving school facilities through Measure T, the voter-approved bond measure supporting infrastructure upgrades across the district. Construction is now underway, with completion expected in 2026.
