Developer Fees

Under Education Code §17620, the governing board of a school district is authorized to levy fees, charges, dedications, or other requirements on new construction within the district to help fund the construction or reconstruction of school facilities.

For the South San Francisco Unified School District, School Impact Fees are assessed at the following rates:

• Residential: $3.79 per square foot

• Commercial: $0.61 per square foot

The City of South San Francisco, Building Division will provide the square footage for your project. Once calculations are completed, the district will contact you via email to schedule an appointment to pay the fees. Accepted payment methods include personal checks, cashier’s checks, or cash.
