Personnel Commission

The Personnel Commission is an independent body composed of three lay persons who must be known adherents of the merit system, which is a system of rules and procedures (similar to civil service) that ensures employees are selected, promoted, and retained without favoritism and prejudice on the basis of merit and fitness.

Personnel commissioners are appointed to three-year, staggered terms.

One is appointed by the SSFUSD school board, one by the classified employees' representative organization, and one jointly by the other two commissioners.
