An Inter-District Transfer (IDT) allows a student to attend a school outside of their district of residence.

Families requesting to attend a school in another district must submit an Inter-District Transfer Permit (IDT) each year.
- Applications are typically available beginning in January
- Check the requested district’s website for deadlines

Once enrolled SSFUSD, you may also apply for an Open Enrollment transfer within SSFUSD (Feb 1 – April 15)

Important Update
SSFUSD is no longer accepting new IDT requests for the 2026–2027 school year
- Requests submitted to your district of residence by February 28 will still be considered
- Decision letters begin going out April 1, 2026
