As the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, I am committed to ensuring that every student in the South San Francisco Unified School District experiences strong, high-quality instruction that expands opportunities and promotes the social and economic mobility of our students. I believe deeply in equitable, grade-level, engaging, affirming, and meaningful learning experiences that honor students’ identities and lived experiences. When instruction helps students feel seen, heard, and valued, it creates the conditions for deep learning and growth—especially for those from historically marginalized communities. My goal is to support and promote the cultivation of classrooms where all students are empowered with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to learn, contribute meaningfully to their communities, navigate complex systems, and ultimately thrive in college, career, and life.
