SSFUSD AND CSEA BARGAINING UPDATE – March 7, 2019

 

The District and the California School Employees Association (“CSEA”) met on March 7, 2019 for their initial bargaining session on 2018-2019 contract reopeners.  The District provided CSEA with remaining proposed revisions to job descriptions in an effort to resolve and implement the Ewing Classification Study. 

 

CSEA then presented its initial proposal which included revisions to existing contract terms consistent with the US Supreme Court’s decision in Janus v. AFSCME, salary increases, a longevity increase, an increase to health & welfare benefits, among others.

 

The District presented its counter proposal which included proposed increases to the classified salary schedule: 2.25% for 2018-2019 and 2.25% 2019-2020, full employee-only coverage for medical, dental, and vision benefits for all full-time employees effective July 1, 2019, an increase in guaranteed minimum hours for paraprofessionals, among others.

The Parties will meet again on March 20, 2019.
