CBOC Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the citizens' bond oversight committee are to:
  • Inform and advise the public;
  • Review and report on bond expenditures;
  • Review copies of annual, independent financial and performance audits;
    Review efforts by the district to maximize bond revenues; and
  • Issue reports (at least once a year) of the results of their efforts.
CBOC members have NO authority to: 
  • Participate in bond sale or issuance
  • Set projects or determine how bond funds are spent
  • Participate in the bid process for contractors or consultants
  • Inspect construction projects without permission from the district

All CBOC proceedings must be open to the public.

CBOC Membership Recruitment

South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) is recruiting applicants to serve on the Measure T Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC). 
 
The purpose of this committee is to inform the public concerning the expenditures and uses of bond revenues.  
 
Committee members will receive information and updates on bond-funded projects throughout the district at CBOC meetings.
 
All members serve a two-year term.
 
SSFUSD employees, officials, vendors, contractors, and consultants are NOT allowed to serve as CBOC members.

There must be a minimum of seven (7) individual CBOC member
CBOC members will serve for a term of two years.
 
By law, CBOC members must represent the following community groups:
Active member of a senior citizens' organization
Active member of a business organization
Active member of a bona fide taxpayer organization
Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district
Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district AND active in a parent-teacher association (PTA)
