LCAP Goals
Goal 1. Academic Achievement
The district will provide a high quality educational program that focuses on raising the overall academic achievement and social learning environment for all students. A primary area of focus will remain on our curricular program to ensure that it is coherent and aligned across the district.
Major components of this goal include:
- A focus on equity and access for students through our curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
- An accurate collection and analysis of data; and
- Securing evidenced-based programs/services to maximize learning for our students.
Goal 2. Professional Development
Identified classified staff, certificated and administrative staff will participate in professional development trainings that will assist in preparing students for college, career, and lifelong readiness and/or provide ongoing support for learning and growth within the profession to increase skills to better support all students.
Major components of this goal include:
- High quality professional development on topics ranging from cultural competence, equity, Common Core, and other curricula, instruction, and assessment topics.
Goal 3. Engagement
The district will increase student, parent and community engagement and support programs that foster a stronger, more positive, connection between school and home.
Major components of this goal include:
- Increased parent engagement;
- Increase overall culture at school sites and the district office; and
- Opportunities for students and parents to have a stronger connection to the school.
Goal 4. Special Education
SSFUSD will provide a high-quality curricular programs for students with disabilities that will raise student engagement in school and proficiency on the California Common Core State Standards as measured by overall academic achievement on state assessments, and engagement rates.
Major components of this goal include:
- Improving academic achievement through access to rigorous curriculum and academic support;
- Continuing to build a continuum of services and internal capacity to support students; and
- Professional development for teachers and staff on topics including culturally appropriate restorative practices, transition planning and IEP goal setting, co-teaching and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) model.
