Migrant Education

Former South San Francisco Mayor Pedro Gonzalez congratulates parents completing a six-week parenting course sponsored by SSFUSD's migrant education program.
South San Francisco Unified School District’s (SSFUSD) migrant education program organizes events to help newly arrived families learn how to succeed in the United States.

Participants learn how to become involved in civic life and how to support their children in school.

Meanwhile, events such as parenting courses introduce concepts such as positive discipline and mindfulness practices that help manage stress and reduce emotional reactivity.
