New Students

New students must register now for the 2022-2023 school year.

1st day of classes is August 10, 2022.

Kindergarten Eligibility

Children who will be 5 years of age by September 1, 2022, are eligible for kindergarten.
Children turning 5-years-old after September 1, may check eligibility for South San Francisco Unified School District's transitional kindergarten (TK) program.
Kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year starts February 28, 2022, and will continue throughout the year. We strongly encourage families to complete the registration process before the end of May to secure kindergarten placement.
Students currently attending TK at an SSFUSD school should register as a NEW student for kindergarten.
Schools are closed during the summer and reopen for late registration in August. See registration instructions for grades K-12 below.

New Student Registration

  • Starting February 28, 2022, new students at SSFUSD must enroll via online registration.

  • All students must register with the local schools that serve their area of residence.

  1. Find your school of residence.

New students must register with their school of residence. Find the school that serves your area of residence with the School Locator or SSFUSD Street Directory.

  2. Verify Residence / Gather Documents.

Start the enrollment process by collecting required documents (English) / (Spanish) to upload during the online registration process. Parents without a PG&E bill in their name can verify their residence by completing a residency affidavit (English) / (Spanish) at the district office. Once the residency affidavit has been approved, please upload it through the online registration process or bring it to your local school office.

  3. Complete the enrollment process via the online registration kiosk.
Step-by-step instructions for online registration are available in English, Spanish, and Tagalog.
Students registering after May 31 will be placed according to available space.

Please be prepared to upload your required documents as part of the online registration process. Please also be prepared to provide additional information during the online registration process including:

• Household information (e.g., address and phone numbers)
• Parent information (e.g., work and cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses)
• Student information (e.g., demographic and health or medication information)
• Emergency contact information (e.g., addresses and phone numbers)
• Doctor’s Information (e.g., address and phone numbers)
